Alfred Bekkers, one of the UK’s leading Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Converters and vehicle adaptations specialists, has recently signed an exclusivity agreement with Autohub to supply their WAV conversions with their patented Flexi Ramp system into New Zealand.

New Zealand Type Approval

The Bekker WAV’s have been issued with Single Type Approval to meet the New Zealand standards. Furthermore, due to Alfred Bekkers efforts, the New Zealand Type Approval will accomplish “a blanket approval for this particular secondary manufacturer and receive a full euro compliance number, on vehicles converted by this converter and supplied through Autohub”.

The Flexi Ramp – Functional, User Friendly & Space Saving

Developed by Bekkers sister company API, Flexi Ramp offers the most innovative solution to the lowered floor requirement. The ramp is fully foldable it allows more space and movement inside the vehicle. When the ramp is stowed flat the entire luggage compartment can be utilised without any obstructions. The ramp can also be unfolded, when needed, to create ample space for a wheelchair user. There will also be a restraint system fitted into the vehicle to ensure the secure transport of the wheelchair users. The Flexi Ramp is specially configured to offer a low ramp gradient which allows the least possible effort required to push the wheelchair users into the vehicle. To make the process even easier could also select an optional powered winch to pull the wheelchair into the back of the vehicle (vehicle dependent).
