Working closely with SECAMB, Alfred Bekker have developed the innovative RolliBox Patient Transport system, this conversion allows the vehicle user to transport seated passengers and wheelchair users simultaneously, whilst also having the capacity to carry a stretcher and medical equipment.
Made in Germany, this system is perhaps most suited to Patient and Community Transport Services, as it features seats which fold away to the vehicle’s side when not required.
This adaptable system compliments Alfred Bekkers range of products because of its adaptability, e.g. the Ford Grand Tourneo Connect WAV, fitted with Bekkers own Flexi-Ramp System.
The key equipment folds away neatly, to allow cleaning to be made as easy as possible. A tested, integrated four point tie down system means that up to four wheelchairs can be secured for travel. The seatbelts and headrests from the unused seats are utilised for those wheelchair passengers, to allow for extra protection.
Another benefit of the all in one seating system is that it can react to whatever passenger situation the vehicle finds itself in. Being able to have 7 seats, or 4 seats and 2 wheelchairs allows one vehicle to be used for many different services.
The video below showcases a four minute demonstration of the system in operation. The vehicle shown is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, however the RolliBox can also be fitted onto Volkswagen Crafters, Renault Masters, Vauxhall Movanos, Ford Transits, Fiat Ducatos, Peugeot Boxers and Citroen Relays.
To gain access through the rear, either tail lifts or ramps can be installed, with the SECAMB vehicle having the lift solution.
With the company’s focus on entering new markets, Alfred Bekker hopes to become a familiar name within the PTS Ambulance and Community Transport sectors. With the business being the sole provider of RolliBox in the UK, it could be platform for AB to become a first choice in its targeted markets.
