At Bekkers we ensure that all our Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Conversions comply with the current Health & Safety legislation and the European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA) regulations.
What is ECWVTA?
ECWVTA is a legislation change which ensures that all vehicles are ‘safe to use on the road and have a lower impact on the environment’. These legislation changes commenced in 2009 and are strictly governed by the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).
How do we achieve it?
In order to achieve ECWVTA our vehicles must pass a number of stringent performance requirements, for example the exhaust emissions and braking systems. To ensure a consistent approach, the test guidelines are clearly outlined in the relevant EC Directive/ Regulation or UN Regulation, All vehicle tests must also be carried out at an approved facility.
